Portrait & History

Established in 1977 by BOsner and WAlter, BOWA-electronic GmbH started developing and producing next-generation products for the automobile industry. Soon a core competence emerged for sensors, cables, plug-and-socket connections and injection-moulded plastic components.

They started off in Gomaringen/Germany, and since 1990 they have also had a production facility in Poznan/Poland (BOWA Polska – formerly "Trans-Plast"), where they are continually expanding the development and production of brake wear sensors for the automobile industry. Pioneering ingenuity and expertise in the technology of plastic injection moulding have made BOWA the top supplier and coveted tier-1 supplier for the automobile industry.

In 2005, they changed their business name to BOWA-electronic GmbH & Co. KG to develop, under the management of Dr. Thomas Kröber, into a flourishing undertaking with 200 employees at the German and 300 at their Polish location.
